Collaborative Intelligence for decisions that matter

Know what matters - and why.

Too much, too little or too unclear information to make defensible decisions? Missing the expertise the situation needs? Through  structural analytics and a team of dedicated expert agents, CASi Labs sharpens the understanding you're missing, develops the reasoning your decisions need, and produces outputs you can stand behind - defensible, traceable and explainable.

What CASi Labs is

CASi Labs is a European AI lab dedicated to collaborative intelligence — the reasoning capacity that emerges when structural analytics, human judgment and AI expert agents work together, producing understanding that lead to better decisions.

We have developed the methodology and the infrastructure to put this capacity to work — demonstrated on real cases, and connected to a growing academic and policy ecosystem.

What we build

A graph, an agent team, and the room where they meet.

The graph

A structural model of the situation.

Causes, dynamics, and how the parts connect — built specifically for the question at hand.

The agent team

Specialist agents, mapped to the graph.

Each instantiated with a distinct expertise profile and analytical stance, bounded to the parts they reason on.

The room

Where you meet the team.

A collaborative workspace where graph, agents, and you examine, contest, and produce defensible reasoning.

The Lab

Reasoning is our foundation.

What collaborative intelligence means, why it requires a new kind of reasoning infrastructure, and how the CASi methodology turns the concept into operational practice.

Activity-led, not a roster of logos. University partnerships, labs run, briefs co-authored, proposals contributed to. Updated as agreements are signed.

Dr. Bartel Van de Walle

Founder, CASi Labs

Dr. Bartel Van de Walle is working at the intersection of applied AI, complex-situation analysis, and human decision-making under pressure. He founded CASi Labs after two decades of research, UN leadership, and field deployments in crisis, humanitarian, and policy contexts — where the reasoning gap between available information and defensible judgment kept showing up as the problem no tool was solving.

Before founding CASi Labs, Bartel was Director at United Nations University, Professor in Policy Analysis at Delft University of Technology, and Senior Visiting Fellow at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative and Harvard Kennedy School.
