Know what matters — and why.
Too much, too little or too unclear information to make defensible decisions? Missing the expertise the situation needs? Through structural analytics and a team of dedicated expert agents, CASi Labs sharpens the understanding you're missing, develops the reasoning your decisions need, and produces outputs you can stand behind — defensible, traceable and explainable.
A graph, an agent team, and the room where they meet.
A structural model of the situation.
Causes, dynamics, and how the parts connect — built specifically for the question at hand.
Expert agents, mapped to the graph.
Each instantiated with a distinct expertise profile and analytical stance, bounded to the parts they reason on.
Where you meet the team.
A collaborative workspace where graph, agents, and you examine, contest, and produce defensible reasoning.
What we are working on.
The reasoning relationship between human users and bounded expert agents — what collaborative intelligence means, how the CASi methodology operationalises it, and what it looks like in practice.

Six domains we are active in — information operations, mass-casualty response, food security, energy infrastructure, cyber resilience, regional economic transition — each as an explorable workspace.

Activity-led, not a roster of logos. University partnerships, labs run, briefs co-authored, proposals contributed to. Updated as agreements are signed.

Dr. Bartel Van de Walle
Dr. Bartel Van de Walle is working at the intersection of applied AI, complex-situation analysis, and human decision-making under pressure. He founded CASi Labs after two decades of research, UN leadership, and field deployments in crisis, humanitarian, and policy contexts — where the reasoning gap between available information and defensible judgment kept showing up as the problem no tool was solving.
Before founding CASi Labs, Bartel was Director at UNU-MERIT (United Nations University), Professor in Policy Analysis at Delft University of Technology, and Senior Visiting Fellow at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative and Harvard Kennedy School.
